For the past two years, I have served on the KCUSA board as a director. During this time, I have worked on organizing “Meet the Breeds” activities, “FaII Frolic” social gatherings and assisted with the organization of our annual gatherings (ribbons, raffle fundraisers, and hospitality). I have contributed to the club website, our email blasts and coloring pages for future Kooikerhondje fanciers which is instrumental to the longevity of our club. On occasion I have assisted our newsletter editor with information for articles. I enjoy promoting this wonderful breed at club events and the humor that comes along with their misidentification by the general public. No, it’s not a Brittany mix it’s a Kooikerhondje…a Kooi what?
Currently, I have been assigned the public relations portfolio and I’m excited to see positive changes taking place within the club that are so integral to our growth. I work in the local school systems, and coach athletes ranging from 7 to 18 years old. Each week I try to dedicate a few hours to the KCUSA whether it’s corresponding by email, phone or text to our club members or just being an ambassador for the breed while talking to prospective Kooikerhondje owners. I enjoy meeting new members and reminiscing with old ones at club events such as the New York City “Meet the Breeds.”
In the past, I have enjoyed doing obedience and agility with my Kooikerhondje and would like to become more active in performance activities in the future. I’m looking forward to the breed entering miscellaneous status this July and hope I can continue to serve the club membership. Thank you for considering me for the position of KCUSA Secretary.
Sincerely, Lynann Lorenz
